Worker Shift

After the user enters their PIN code and a booking period (establishment shift) is already active, the system checks whether the user has an active Worker Shift (also called Employee Shift).

If the worker shift has not yet been started, the user is directed to the Worker Shift page before accessing any POS functionality.

Purpose

The worker shift enforces accountability by tracking when each individual employee clocks in and out. It ensures all actions (orders, payments, etc.) are attributed to a specific logged-in user.

Info

This is mandatory in the Belgian SCE-certified version of the application and is enabled by default.

Worker Shift Screen

When presented with the Worker Shift page, the following information and actions are available:

  • Username – The current user’s name
  • Current Shift State – Indicates if a shift is active or not
  • Start Time – If a shift is already running, the start time is displayed
If no start time is shown, the user has not clocked in yet.

  • Worker Shift History – A brief log of the user’s recent clock-ins and clock-outs

Actions Available

  • Start Shift
Starts a new worker shift for the user.
Once started, the user gains full access to the POS interface and can begin placing orders, processing payments, and managing accounts.

  • Lock Page
Locks the screen and requires the user to re-enter their PIN code to proceed.

  • Change User
Prompts a PIN code and keeps the user on the Worker Shift screen.
Useful for quick user swaps or corrections without restarting the application.

  • Manage Shop Shifts
Opens the Establishment Shift control panel, allowing the user to close the current booking period if authorized.

Note

Worker shifts are tracked per user, while establishment shifts (booking periods) apply to the entire location.

Tip

Users should always end their worker shift before closing a booking period to ensure complete reporting of their individual activity.

  • A worker shift must be started to access POS functions.
  • The Worker Shift screen also provides lockout, user switch, and booking period controls.
