Login

The Login Page is the first screen shown when launching the Posbel app on a tablet.

This screen authenticates the device and user through the following fields:

  • Organization ID
    The unique organization identifier assigned to the establishment during account setup. This is required for all logins.

  • Username
    The username of the user account logging in.
    Only Main and Register account types can log in to the POS tablet.
    Server type accounts cannot access this screen.

  • Password
    The password assigned to the user during creation.
    This is not the same as the PIN code, which will be used after login.

Login Behavior

After entering valid credentials and tapping Login:

  1. The system authenticates the user and device.
  2. The interface proceeds to the PIN code login screen for order management.
  3. If a Main user type logs in for the first time on a device, the tablet will be bound to that Main user.

Warning

Devices are only bound when a Main user logs in.
Register and Server users do not trigger device binding.

Tip

It is recommended to use a dedicated tablet for the Main user account, since only one Main user can be assigned per establishment and it should remain fixed.

Logging Back In Without Typing Credentials

Once an account has signed in on a device, the app remembers it. The next time the login screen opens, it shows that account instead of the form: a card with the account and Org number · Log back in beneath it, and an Auto Login button.

Tap the card or Auto Login to sign straight back in — no Organization ID, no username, no password.

Two ways out of it:

  • Log into another account replaces the card with the usual form, for signing in as somebody else. Back to saved account — or the tablet's back gesture — returns to the card.
  • Remove saved login forgets the account on this tablet. It confirms first: “Remove saved login?” — “This terminal will no longer log in automatically with this account. The password will be needed to log in again.” The Organization ID and Username fields are emptied with it.

Note

If the saved login is no longer accepted — the account's password was changed in the Posbel Admin panel, for instance — the app falls back to the form with the Organization ID and Username already filled in. Only the password has to be typed.

Warning

A tablet that logs itself in is a tablet anyone can use. Keep Pin lock on where the device is reachable by customers or passers-by, so the saved login opens the app but not the till. See PIN Login.

Tip

This is the fast path after Close app or a tablet restart. It is not a substitute for the Lock button during service — see PIN Login.

Device Serial Number

The device's serial number is shown at the bottom of the login screen. Quote it when you contact support about a specific tablet; it identifies the device unambiguously where "the tablet by the window" does not.

Summary

  • Login requires a valid Organization ID, Username, and Password.
  • Only Main and Register users are allowed to log in.
  • A device becomes permanently linked only when a Main user logs in for the first time.
