User Settings
The User settings page shows what this device is signed in as, lets you test printing, and holds the handful of display options that apply to this tablet only.
Open it from the Menu on the Home Screen, then User settings.
What This Page Describes
The page describes the device, not the person currently working on it. If staff sign in with PIN codes, the account shown here is the Register or Main account the tablet is logged into — not whoever last entered a PIN.
Account
Read-only, taken from the Admin Panel:
- Username
- Organization ID
- Account type
Organization
Also read-only, and also from the Admin Panel:
- Organization Name
- VAT Number
- Address
- Phone number
- Website
Anything blank shows “Info not added, please add your details on the web admin platform.”
Note
These are changed in the Admin Panel, not here. The tablet picks the change up on its own — this page is where you check that it did.
Warning
The VAT Number and Address shown here are what gets printed on your tickets. If they are wrong or missing, your tickets are wrong. Fix them in the Admin Panel before opening.
Local Printer Settings
Print test
Sends a test ticket to every printer the device can reach.
Print test (User Printer)
Sends a test ticket only to the printer assigned to the signed-in account.
Tip
Run both when printing misbehaves. If Print test produces tickets and Print test (User Printer) produces nothing, the printers are healthy and the problem is the printer assigned to that user in the Admin Panel. That one comparison saves a lot of guessing — see Printing Problems.
The page also displays, read-only:
- Local printer IP Address — the register printer this device prints to
- General Org printer IP Address — the establishment-wide fallback
UI Customisation
These three apply to this tablet only. Changing them on one device changes nothing anywhere else, and they take effect immediately.
| Option | Effect |
|---|---|
| Force light mode | Forces the light theme regardless of the device's own setting |
| Simple products | Product tiles show only the name and price |
| Product Background Colors | Uses the colour set on the product in the Admin Panel as the tile background |
Tip
Simple products with Product Background Colors is worth trying on a busy bar: staff navigate by colour and position rather than reading, which is faster once the layout is familiar. On a quieter menu with good photography, leave images on.
App Info
Refresh new products
Clears the product cache the app keeps for speed, and pulls the catalogue again from the server.
Use it when a product or group you have just added in the Admin Panel has not appeared on the tablet.
Check for app updates
Checks whether a newer version of the app is available.
Note
Where the app was installed from your device's own app store, updates arrive through that store, and this check may not be the route that updates you.
App Version
The installed version. Certified installations carry a build suffix identifying the SCE-certified version.
Device Summary
Serial number, manufacturer, brand and operating system version. Quote this when you contact support about a specific tablet.
System Actions
- Open Settings — opens the Android system settings
- Close app — closes the POS and returns to the device home screen
- Logout — ends the session and returns to the login screen
Warning
Logout is not the same as locking the screen. It ends the device's session, and signing back in needs the Organization ID, Username and Password — though the saved-account card usually makes that a single tap.
To hand the tablet to a colleague mid-service, use the Lock button on the Home Screen instead.
Options You May Not See
Activate Vivawallet App to App appears only when your establishment has been set up for automatic terminal activation and the terminal has not been activated yet. When it is shown, tapping it activates the terminal without configuring it by hand.
A Kiosk LED section is present for kiosks fitted with an LED indicator. This is a technician setting, configured during installation.
Summary
- Describes the device, not the PIN user
- Account and organization details are read-only and come from the Admin Panel
- Print test and Print test (User Printer) separate a printer fault from an assignment fault
- The three UI options are per tablet
- Refresh new products fixes a catalogue that looks out of date
