Configuration

The webshop is configured from the Website tab of the Settings page in the Admin Panel — see Website Settings — together with your products, promotions and pickup points.

Warning

The Website tab exists only once Online order activated has been switched on for your establishment by your Posbel account manager.

Turning It On

  • Online order activated — set by your Posbel account manager; this is what makes the shop exist for your establishment.
  • Online order open — yours to control. Pauses and resumes ordering without taking the site down. Customers can still browse the menu; they are told when ordering is possible again.

Tip

Use order intake to close for a busy service or an unexpected staff shortage. Switching off the whole webshop hides your menu from search engines and customers alike, which is a heavier action than you usually want.

Order Types

Enable the ones you offer. Each appears as a choice at checkout.

Setting Offers
Pickup enabled Pick-up
Delivery enabled Delivery
Eat-in Eat in

A type you do not enable is simply not offered.

Payment Methods

  • Online payment enabled — the customer pays at checkout.
  • Pay after order (at pickup) enabled — the customer pays on collection or delivery instead.

Warning

Enable at least one. A webshop with no payment method lets customers build a basket they cannot submit.

Note

A bank transfer setting also exists. It belongs to the retired version of the ordering site and has no effect on the current one.

Amounts

  • Minimum amount for online order — the total a customer must reach before they can submit an order. Below it, the site shows how much is still needed.
  • Delivery product — the product used to charge the delivery fee. Its price is what the customer is charged.
  • Minimum amount for free delivery — the order total at which the delivery fee stops being applied.

Note

The delivery fee is charged as a product on the order, which is why it appears on tickets and in reporting like any other line.

Hours

Ordering hours are governed by your pickup points: each carries its own Order Time and Pickup Time, and the customer chooses a slot from those. Outside those hours the site shows when ordering is possible again.

Order intake can also be paused at any moment, independently of the schedule.

Products on the Webshop

Products and groups are the same as in the POS. Two settings control what the webshop shows:

  • Hide on Website on a product or product group keeps it off the webshop while leaving it available in the POS.
  • Show product with stock available only removes products with no stock from the site.

Note

Price Out and VAT Out — the takeaway price and rate — are what the webshop charges for pick-up and delivery orders.

Warning

A dynamic-price product cannot be ordered online, for the same reason it cannot be ordered on a kiosk: the customer has no way to set a price.

Appearance

  • Product image has background — tells the site how to render your product images, so images that already carry their own background are not shown as though they were cut out.
  • Link of your banner image — the banner file, uploaded in Media and referenced by its URL.

Version

Online Order version selects which version of the ordering site your establishment runs.

Warning

Version 1 is retired. Establishments run the current version; version 1 is no longer live and should not be selected.
