Belgium (SCE) vs International

Posbel comes in two versions. The Belgian SCE-certified version is for establishments subject to Belgian fiscal certification: sales are signed by a fiscal module (FDM), and a number of operations are constrained so that the record stays auditable. The International version is used everywhere else.

Throughout this documentation, anything that differs is marked in place with a note or a warning. This page collects the differences in one view.

What Is Different

Area Certified version International
Sales Every sale is signed fiscally as it happens Not signed
Corrections A cancellation creates a reversing line; both are recorded Items can simply be removed before sending
VAT ticket Can only be printed once the sale is registered; emailed instead of printed when the account has a client with an email address; no reprints Printed automatically where configured; reprints possible
Customer credit Not available, for any user Available
Z report Content fixed by the certification Can include a product-by-product section
Promotion campaigns Not available — the Admin Panel's Promotions page is hidden Available: promo codes, fixed reductions, "buy M get N"
Invoices Not available Available
Pickup points Not available Available
Digital menu Not available Available

What Is the Same

These are available in both versions, and the documentation covers them for both:

  • Online ordering — a webshop order is signed fiscally exactly like one taken at the register
  • Self-ordering kiosk, including restricting it to card payments only
  • Kitchen display
  • Refunds, error payments and offered items, each recorded as a fiscal correction
  • Discounts at the register — the percentage applied to a product, to selected items or to a whole account, and the Promo percentage set on a product in the Admin Panel. In the certified version a discount on a line that was already registered is recorded as a correction of that line
  • Partial payments — part of a bill can be paid and the account stays open for the rest. In the certified version, a cash part-payment that needs rounding is confirmed first
  • Automatic shift opening and closing
  • Provisional bills — and, in both versions, service can continue after one is printed

Note

Several of these were once certified-version restrictions and no longer are. If you have been working around one of them, it is worth re-reading the page concerned.

Fiscal Configuration

The certified version has one extra settings area, holding the connection to the fiscal module. It is normally filled in when your establishment is set up.

Which One Am I Running?

The certified version identifies itself in the application's version information, and its Settings page carries the fiscal section described above. If neither is present, you are on the International version.
