Payment Totals

What was taken in cash, by card, by transfer or on credit — for a day, for one shift, or for any period you choose.

Warning

There is no longer a Payment Transactions section of its own in the Posbel Admin panel. The totals it used to show were partial, and the figures below replace it. Individual movements now sit on the account they belong to.

Where to Look, by Period

What you want Where to go
A day, or any date range Accounts — set the dates, read the Total card. See Account History
One booking period Shift Z — open the shift and read its Total. See Shifts
Shift by shift over a range Shift Z → Shift statistic — Total Cash and Total Card per shift, and a Total for the whole range. See Shifts
A document to file or hand to a bookkeeper The X and Z report PDFs. See Reports and Exports
Every movement on one account Open the account and read its Payment Transactions card

Tip

For "what did we take yesterday", Accounts with both dates on that day is the quickest answer. For "does the drawer match", use the shift — a booking period is the unit the cash count belongs to.

What the Total Card Shows

The same Total card appears on Accounts, on a shift, and on Shift statistic:

  • Total Cash
  • Total Card
  • Total Transfer
  • Total Offered
  • Total Error
  • Total Credit
  • Total

How the lines are worked out

Each line is the money actually kept: what was taken, less anything returned. Change handed back is already deducted from Total Cash, so the line is what stayed in the drawer rather than what passed through it.

Total adds up Total Cash, Total Card, Total Transfer and Total Credit. Total Offered and Total Error sit in the same card but are not part of it — nothing was taken for them. See Payment → Offered and Error Are Not Payment Methods.

A cash Rounding is recorded as its own movement and is not added to Total Cash, so rounding a cash payment never inflates the cash figure.

The VAT Panel

Beside the totals, VAT is broken down per rate. Each rate shows:

  • Rate — the percentage
  • HVAT — the value before VAT
  • VAT — the VAT itself
  • Total — the value including VAT

Note

The VAT panel counts the VAT on the items ordered in the period, whether or not the account has been paid. The Total card counts money taken. With accounts still open, the two will not agree, and that is expected.

Movements on a Single Account

Open an account from Accounts and its Payment Transactions card lists every movement separately: the payment method, whether the movement was a Payment, a Tip or a Rounding, who registered it, when, and for how much.

This is the place to go when an account's total looks right but the till does not — it shows each movement rather than the net figure.

VAT Disclaimer

Warning

The VAT figures shown in these panels are for visual reference only. They do not represent certified or legally binding financial records for the Belgian SCE-certified version.

For official reporting or audit purposes, always refer to a signed VAT ticket generated by the register, and to the Z report it prints.

Summary

  • Totals per payment method live on Accounts (any date range), on a shift, and on Shift statistic (shift by shift)
  • The Total line is cash, card, transfer and credit — Offered and Error are shown but not counted
  • Every line is net of change returned, and cash rounding is kept apart
  • The per-movement detail sits on the account itself
  • The VAT panel follows what was ordered; the Total card follows what was taken
